If you know me, then you’ll know that Im sort of into Fishing. Something that I like about fishing is Old Stuff. I love Vintage fishing tackle. I have a fair bit that I have saved for years wondering what to do with. I finally found the time and the purpose. I started cleaning it up and buffing things out, in essence, restoring so I can display it for others to enjoy. The quality of workmanship in the old alway’s impresses me. The Brass, the thickness of the metal, The hand painting of the wood. I was recently cleaning up the old spoons. Some “Yard and 1/2” spoons.

A couple “Shovel and Rudder’s”, these are used instead of a “Dodger”, which is the modern solution. The old Dodgers are in the bottom picture, also cleaned up, re-stickered. I do like the Names to show, so I cut the sticker so the name still shows of what it is, or who made it. Again, I love it when I clean all the old paints off and it reveals Solid Brass, instead of Stainless. Once again, I like the stickers to help them flash and to update any non-functional connections, not to make things Old, but able to pull off the wall today and catch fish knowing that they are as good as new, if not better!

One of my favorites is the “Point Defiance Spoons”. Once purchased at the “Point Defiance Boathouse”. No longer are made, and they fetch a good penny on e-bay.

Im Not one to restore to Original. These are pieces that have been used for years fishing! Many changed and altered, so I took apart and buffed the metal out, Cut new stickers, new hooks, new enough to go and catch Salmon rite now. Infact I also have a few in my tackle box that I still fish with.
