Oak that I milled from a friends in Lacy, WA. Primarily cut for firewood, I decided to see what it looked like. I love the grain structure. Purposely left the cracks and filled with some epoxy. I have a bunch more of this oak. I look forward to getting it milled up.

I have some twenty+ fruit trees. One dream I alway’s had is to have an apple orchard in Eastern Washington. My small orchard fails in comparison. However, I have Apples, Pears, Plum & Peach. In my pruning, I often save the larger pieces. This piece that I made is from pieces of several different trees. I love the color of this wood. I want to collect some larger pieces of fruit wood to play with. I think there’s much to gain.

I was given some really rough slabs of what I believe to be Cherry many years ago. I finally planed it up, I didn’t get too much out of it because it was in such rough shape. What I did manage to get out of it I found to be beautiful wood. This wood cut so nice. I have used a limited amount of Cherry, and I find it to not only be affordable, but very nice to work with and with such beauty the way it sands and takes on the oil.
